Prior to joining Stuart Lammert & Co. in 2004, Mr. Ortiz spent several years with Citigroup Global Markets and it predecessor firm, Salomon Smith Barney, where he held increasingly-responsible positions leading to Vice President with the Global Energy Group of the Investment Banking Division.

While at Citigroup, Mr. Ortiz worked on numerous strategic M&A transactions as well as equity and fixed income capital markets deals. Mr. Ortiz has extensive experience with strategic transactions, including privatizations, cross-border asset swaps, public market acquisitions and initial public offerings for multinational integrated energy enterprises, oil service firms and exploration and production companies.

Mr. Ortiz started at Salomon Brothers as a Summer Associate in 1996 and rotated through several groups of the Investment Banking Division while completing the firm's Associate Training Program. Mr. Ortiz started his career in 1993 as a credit analyst with First Fidelity Bank (now Wachovia Securities) and completed the Bank's Institutional Credit Analyst Training program.

Mr. Ortiz holds a BSc from Bucknell University and an MBA from the University of Chicago GSB.
